No. Since the Sidekick trims hair instead of cutting blank, ingrown hairs can’t happen.
The trimmer should only be used in dry conditions. However, to maintain peak hygiene, the blades are rust-resistant and can be rinsed when detached under running water or dry-cleaned with a brush while a dust cover keeps them that way.
The Sidekick comes with a USB cable to recharge. Simply connect the smaller end to the trimmer and plug the other into a conventional USB socket.
